Wisselwerking tussen darmflora en antibiotica
Samenvatting (in Engels)
Antibiotic administration has short term benefits and long term consequences on the dynamics, diversity and microbial resistome of the gut microbiota. To this end, antibiotic resistance has been studies in a clinical setting, where the consequences of antibiotic therapy were evaluated, and where changes in the antibiotic resistance profiles were followed in patients receiving therapy. In addition, resistant bacteria were cultured from a range of ecological niches, to study the diversity and potential impact of resistant bacteria regarding their potential clinical implications.
