Prof. Dr. Marialena Nikolopoulou is a prominent scholar in the field of outdoor thermal perception studies and received awards for her ground-breaking work in introducing psychological factors to the concept of human thermal perception.

She has translated this knowledge into practical applications in architecture and urban design. She is affiliated to the University of Kent, UK, where she acts as the programme Director of the MSc programme in Architecture and the Sustainable Environment, Director of CASE Research Centre and Director of Research.
