This PhD research investigates sustainable rural development in the Russian Federation, focusing on the Stavropol Territory. It examines agricultural sustainability, innovation, well-being, and intra-country migration dynamics. By using empirical evidence and in-depth analysis, the research identifies challenges and opportunities for rural areas. It highlights the importance of integrating economic, social, and environmental dimensions for effective policymaking. The findings challenge assumptions about urban superiority in well-being and provide insights into migration trends and their impact on rural depopulation. Ultimately, the research contributes to understanding the complexities of rural development and offers recommendations for enhancing sustainability and well-being in rural areas, which is crucial for ensuring food security and addressing socio-economic disparities.
