Are there alternatives to make my publication Open Access? (Self-archiving)

Make your article Open Access after publication by depositing the author version in the institutional repository of WUR.

Some journal publishers do not offer an Open Access option, or ask high Article Processing Charges that are not refundable for you.

Green Open Access - also known as self-archiving - refers to the practice of providing Open Access to an article published in a closed access (subscription) journal, by depositing it in an institutional repository. This makes the article accessible to everyone after an embargo period.

Go to Open Access publishing routes to see the different options for self-archiving at WUR.
