DendroLab student wins thesis award

Pascal Sauren, MSc Forest and Nature Conservation at Wageningen University received an award for his Master thesis entitled: Does origin matter? Chances to mitigate drought stress on coastal Douglas-fir in Europe.

The award, called the “Toekomstboomprijs”  is established by the Toekomstboom foundation in cooperation with the Royal Dutch Forest Society KNBV and the Flemish Forestry Society (Bos+) and aims to acknowledge theses dedicated to subjects that drive innovation in the forest sector.

Sauren did his MSc thesis at the DendroLab of the Forest Ecology and Forest Management Group. The price includes a wooden sculpture and an amount of € 750,-. Moreover, Sauren will write an article about his research project for the Dutch journal "Vakblad Natuur, Bos and Landschap”.
