Landscape learning journey

Being able to enhance the resilience of landscapes requires certain critical knowledge, skills and attitude on landscape themes underlying landscape governance processes.

Wageningen University & Research trains colleagues from local civil society organisations and universities in six countries in the Horn of Africa to become landscape facilitators. They jointly embark on a journey in which they are empowered.

They visit and learn from each other’s landscapes; are stimulated to critically reflect on their designed landscape intervention; learn to apply various tools to their landscape; work on their action plans; and share their progress on a online platform. Through collaborative learning the landscape facilitators become more effective in developing and implementing interventions together with stakeholders to enhance the resilience of their landscape.
