SU-EATABLE LIFE PROJECT: Eating well we help the Planet

The SU-EATABLE project is a EU-LIFE funded collaborative project in Italy, the UK and the Netherlands that aims to find new strategies to inspire people to eat more sustainably and healthy. Project activities are co-designed with cafeteria’s in 3 universities and 5 businesses and include re-arrangement of the food offering, on-site communication and a social engagement app. The long-term objective is to contribute to a substantial reduction in CO2 eq. emissions and water saving in EU via active engagement of all actors in food offering and -consumption.

At HSO, we are responsible for the scientific framework including all monitoring and evaluation. Topics to study depend on the running project activities. Thesis that are currently done, aim to answer the questions:

  • How do people socially organize sustainable eating?
  • Which life experiences and resources enable people to eat sustainably?
