Sustainability Intern for Africa and Middle East

Internship at Heineken in the field of Sustainable Development.

Project description

As HEINEKEN, we believe in sustainability as a driver for business success, and in business as a positive force for change. Our sustainability strategy - Brewing a Better World – is one of our four business priorities. It unites our global brands to respect people and the planet and drives us to identify ways we can help tackle society’s challenges.

This is where we need you!

As part of a cross-functional team, your focus will be to work on sustainability challenges about circular economy in the Africa and Middle East region. The main assignment will be to collaborate with the global, regional and local teams to contribute to a pilot project that aims to tackle post-consumption packaging issues in the region.

You will be expected to contribute to the refinement of the business case and identify a sustainable value chain in markets based on reverse logistics and waste management systems in the countries. One of your main tasks will be to calculate the environmental footprint of the project.
Finally, you will be required to support the project team in the implementation of the solution.

Preferred profile of the student

Are you passionate about Sustainable Development and aware of the related issues? Do you want to contribute to find solutions? This internship is for you!
We are looking for a professional-in-the-making who is a problem solver, curious, likes to think out of the box, has great communication skills, is at ease with data (gathering and analysis), and is able to turn anything complex into something simple.
Studies of one or more of the following topics are a plus: sustainable development, eco-conception, circular economy, environmental science and innovation.

You will be based in Amsterdam, starting as soon as possible. Remuneration to be confirmed.
