UniversiTREE planted at Dairy Campus Leeuwarden

On the 23rd and 24th of May 2018 the two-day symposium 'Biodiversity and Dairy farming' took place at Dairy Campus in Leeuwarden. During the symposium, an UniversiTREE was planted on the site. In addition, there was an introduction to a special calf named Louise.

The UniversiTREE

The first day started with a special moment. Namely with the planting of an UniversiTREE by mayor of Leeuwarden Ferd Crone, deputy of the province of Friesland Sander de Rouwe and president of executive board of Wageningen University & Research Louise O. Fresco. This is one of the 100 trees that are planted all over the world in the context of the 100th anniversary of Wageningen University & Research.

Louise the Calf

During the symposium, Louise O. Fresco was introduced to the calf that was born on the 100th anniversary of WUR on the 9th of March 2018. The little cow is already involved in a study on calf rearing, InnoCalfConcept of Dairy Campus.
