On Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th October the workshop Forest, Agriculture and Climate Change took place. Over 30 participants from fourteen different countries contributed to the successful outcome of the workshop, which was organized by Wageningen University and Research, the Environmental Change Institute of Oxford University, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs of The Netherlands, in collaboration CGIAR/CCAFS and CGIAR/FTA. Experts working on agricultural and forest climate change mitigation, including REDD+, exchanged ideas and formulated plans on how to enhance the land-use sector readiness for an integrated approach towards meeting global climate change targets. They also discussed lessons learned from REDD+ in two broad areas: setting the policy framework and implementation, transparency and delivering results, and how and if the lessons can be applied to agriculture and or a land-use level.
