Samenvatting (Engelstalig)

Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are crucial in the pharmaceutical industry, playing a key role in disease treatment, diagnostics, and analytics. Traditionally, mAbs are produced using Chinese hamster ovary cells and defined production processes. This study focused on enhancing the characterization of producer cells and refining manufacturing processes to further drive down the production cost of mAbs. Initially, various cell lines were monitored to identify factors that enhance performance and minimize specific impurities. Subsequently, innovative hybrid process strategies were developed to improve manufacturing efficiency. By advancing the understanding of cell lines and optimizing process strategies, the study makes a substantial contribution to the pharmaceutical industry's mission to make life-saving therapies more accessible and affordable.
