15-16 Februari 2018: Two-day course Agent-based modelling for busy people.
Have you wanted to know more about agent-based modelling for years, but never found time? Perhaps this is your chance. Bruce Edmonds and Gary Polhill are coming to WUR.
This is a hand-on taster of the technique of agent-based simulation as applied to social, ecological and policy issues. It uses a series of 8 example models, starting from the simple and building in complexity, to give an understanding of how the approach works. The sessions alternate between looking at the code of such simulations and playing with the results, broken up by a few more general talks on its application as well as its pros and cons. You will have a chance to play with some more complex simulations that are applied policy issues.
