The first cohort of students of the EM-SANF programme has graduated and the students were awarded their EM-SANF certificate during the Graduation Ceremony last August in Wageningen. Students from the cohorts 2 and 3 were also present to celebrate this event.
In August 2012, the first group of students of the EM-SANF programme arrived at Wageningen University. Two years later these students met again in Wageningen to celebrate their graduation. For this event, family, friends and fellow students were welcomed by the EM-SANF partners. The afternoon started with a joined discussion on EM-SANF after which the graduation ceremony took place. Each student received a personal speech about his/her activities and received the EM-SANF certificate. The ceremony was concluded by a group picture and drinks. In the evening, the graduated students were invited for a dinner with the EM-SANF partners.
For the freshmen in the programme, a two week Introduction Programme was organised. A diverse programme was prepared with scientific lectures, excursions and social activities, in which the students were able to get to know each other. In addition, a one day Summer Conference was organised where 2nd year students presented their internship proposals to fellow students, company representatives and EM-SANF partners. A diverse range of internship projects all around the world were presented from sheep nutrition in Scotland to dairy research in New Zealand and pig nutrition in Canada.
Currently, the next cohort of students started their studies at either Aarhus University (Denmark) for courses with a focus on ‘Animal Nutrition & Environment’ or at Ecole d’ingénieurs de Purpan (France) for ‘Feed Market & Economics’ courses. All education is in English! Students in their 2nd year are working on their internship projects and start to orient themselves for their thesis work for the last semester of their studies.
At the present, applications for the academic year 2015-2017 are open and both scholarship and self-paying students are welcome to apply.
