The next Global Landscape Forum will be held in Bonn, in December 2017, and the organisers would really like to have Wageningen University involved. That is why Peter Holmgren and John Colmey from CIFOR-GLF will be visiting Wageningen Campus on June 15th. The objective of the visit is to identify opportunities for WUR to be a strategic knowledge partner in the Global Landscape Forum.

Do you know the Global Landscape Forum (GLF)? The GLF is an annual event for landscape scientists and practitioners, to exchange knowledge, and to build upon. It is organised by a large number of organisations, including CIFOR, World Bank, UNEP, and many others. You can have a look at its website at http://www.landscapes.org/.

In order to give a good impression of landscape related activities within WUR, we will organise a short Seminar in the morning, in the Speakers’ Corner in Impulse. The seminar will be from 10.00-11.30, with coffee available at 9.45.

The key note speech will be delivered by Bas Arts and Verina Ingram, whose article “Landscape approaches – a state of the art”. This will be followed by a presentation of Peter Holmgren and John Colmey on the GLF plans. The seminar will finalise with a plenary brainstorm on how WUR can contribute to the next GLF event in December.

Are you active in landscape approaches, or interested to know more about? Then join the seminar, on June 15th.
