For registration of a Plant Protection Product in The Netherlands the companies are obligated to deliver information about efficacy and phytotoxicity. The tests for registration purposes have to be carried out by research institutes with a GEP (Good Experimental Practice) certification.

Wageningen UR Greenhouse Horticulture is certified since 1996. Every 6 years a renewal has to be applied for this certification and an extended audit takes place.

Wageningen UR Greenhouse Horticulture also is certified to work with quarantine organisms, for instance Clavibacter. At the location at Bleiswijk six compartments of 20 m² are equipped with insect-screens, collection of waste water, plant material and other garbage from experiments carried out with Q-organisms.

The knowledge about testing efficacy of chemical pesticides is used in research with bio-stimulants and “green” plant protection products.

All research can be carried out confidentially.
