Course on Data Management Planning

On Monday, 9 February, another course on Data Management Planning and how to write a Data Management Plan will be given. This oneday course is meant for PhD students, who have completed the orientation phase of their research project and are starting their research. The course is offered by the Wageningen Graduate Schools and organized by Wageningen UR Library.

Write a Data Management Plan

Since April 2014 all new PhD students have to write a Data Management Plan as part of their research proposal. In a Data Management Plan researchers explain which data they will collect during their research, where they will store and publish their data, with whom they will share their data and what they will do with their data after they complete their research.

Publish a data set

Over the last year Data Management has become an important part of scientific practice. Publishing data together with a publication in a scientific journal is now sometimes required by the journal. Wageningen UR Library can assist you in publishing your data. An example of a published data set in Wageningen UR Staff Publications is FEM growth and yield data: Poplar roadside plantations by J. den Ouden, Mohren, G.M.J. and Jansen, J.J.. Publishing your data will give your research more impact. The data set by Ouden, Mohren and Jansen has been downloaded over 300 times in just a year.

Would you like more information on how to publish a data set, and how to link it to your publication? Please contact our Data Librarian.
