Wageningen UR Library has received a subsidy to digitise its collection of aerial photos from the Second World War. The Erfgoed van de Oorlog (War Heritage Programme) from the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport has granted the subsidy because of the collection's large cultural historical value.

Additional financing is being sought in collaboration with the Alumni Office of Wageningen University to make the photos geographically accessible for online consultation. Regardless if funding is found, a low resolution version of the aerial photos will still be offered on the Library's website. That said, patrons may still order higher resolution reproductions from the Library in accordance with the current services offered. The aerial photos will also be sold under a license with an added value, namely photogrammetric processing (orthophotos), picture enhancement and making mosaics.
