Domenico Dentoni recognized internationally among the 25 Food and Agriculture Leaders to Watch in 2019

The prestigious, US-based Food Tank: The Think Tank for Food led by Danielle Nierenberg has awarded Wageningen University associate professor Domenico Dentoni with the recognition of 25 Food and Agriculture Leaders to Watch in 2019. According to Food Tank, the recognition is awarded to “25 inspiring individuals who are working tirelessly to fix the food system. From technology in farming to advocacy and activism, they all have diverse backgrounds, but their commitment to innovation in food and agriculture unites them. These are the folks who are changing what and how we eat and how we farm around the globe.” The recognition signals the strong societal impact of the designated leaders; and, in the context of academics, provides an example for scholars who aim to achieve high quality/high impact research & teaching. In particular, Dentoni was awarded for the approach of his research and teaching (which is conducted not only on - but with and for - managers of agri-food companies, farmers’ associations, civil society organizations, policy-makers, consumers, and citizens) as well as his vision which entails how complex problems in food and agriculture are best addressed through a meaningful and purposive organization of partnerships.
