ELS’ latest curriculum and faculty development projects in Asia (2/2)

From July 9 to July 5, as a request of the Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (CDI), Omid participated in a series of workshops in Dubai for a running project in Afghanistan. The aim of these workshops was to arrange and plan the establishment of a Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institute for Afghanistan.

This is part of a larger cooperation between Dutch-Afghan governments to improve food production and food security by training teachers for Afghan agricultural (high) schools. These intensive workshops were successful and the preliminary arrangements and plans for piloting this new institute, curriculum, its challenges and opportunities were discussed. Furthermore, we are currently exploring a possible PhD opportunity as part of this project which will be further discussed in the future.
