ENP PhD Candidate Jennifer Lenhart discusses her research as part of Lund University’s Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) entitled, “Greening the Economy: Lessons from Scandinavia”.

Jennifer formerly studied and worked at Lund University’s International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) and continues to collaborate with this institution in reference to her research on urban climate change governance in cities.

In her short lecture, she discusses the themes of her research, as well as practical examples on how to green cities and support sustainable urban lifestyles. This includes the role of local governments and other stakeholders, and how to facilitate sustainable behaviour in a city.

This five week MOOC discusses: (1) what a green economy is, (2) the role of individual choices, (3) business strategies, (4) sustainable cities, and (5) national policies. More information can be found here.  Jennifer’s lecture corresponded with the Week 4’s module on sustainable cities. More about the emergence of MOOCs at various global universities can be found on The Guardian.
