Although programmes to stimulate sustainable fisheries have good intentions, they do not always achieve the intended purposes.

As result fish sold on the market is labelled as sustainable caught, while this is not always true. This compromises the credibility of the MSC label for sustainable fisheries stated ENP colleague Simon Bush and colleages who published about this topic in Science.
