Amanda has spent the past year working at Wageningen Marine Research. Her largest research project at WMR employed mixed methods to understand fisher behaviour in the Netherlands using a combination of logbook data and in-depth interviews. Before that, she did a Social Science Research Master at the University of Amsterdam. As an interdisciplinary researcher, Amanda enjoys engaging with different research methods and different scientific disciplines to achieve a holistic approach to a topic. Her recent work also includes research on marine plastic in the Arctic, conducting stakeholder workshops, and earlier this year she joined the annual beam trawl survey in the North Sea for two weeks to help collect biological data. As a PhD candidate Amanda will be sharing her time between ENR and ENP working on the H2020 MEESO project, which is investigating the viability (in economic, ecological, and social terms) of deep sea fishing.
