Though it is an environmental disaster, it might be one with the least disasterous impact: the explosion of the oil tanker Sanchi in the Chinese Sea. Much oil has already burnt and evaporated before the ship sank to the depths this week. Still, how much and how long damage to sea life will remain visible is unclear.
