The Forum Library is currently exhibiting female sculptures by the ceramic artist Petra de Vree. The exhibition can be seen during the Forum Library's opening hours from Thursday, 17 November 2016 to Friday, 28 April 2017.

For nearly two decades ceramic artist Petra de Vree has worked in the Netherlands as well as in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Over the years, she has created a wonderful array of unique sculptures of confident women. In her own distinctive semi-realistic style she combines pride and strength with elegance and delicacy.

'Take My Knowledge' is the sculpture that Petra de Vree was commissioned to do by the Network of Wageningen Women Alumni (VWI) as a gift to Wageningen University &Research. The current Library exhibition shows the process of making this sculpture. The sculpture itself is exhibited in Impulse, building 115 on the Campus. The image has been used for the book Inspiring Women at WUR.

Petra made her first female image from the natural clay of Bolivia. Two of her newest sculptures made in Bangladesh are exhibited in the vitrine of the Library.

'Inspiring Women' can be seen during the Forum Library's opening hours from Thursday, 17 November 2016 until Friday, 28 April 2017.
