Forum Library: requests from the stacks on the hour

You can now pick up the publications you requested from the stacks every hour. This schedule started on 1 October and is available on working days in Forum Library.

In the past we processed stack requests as soon as they came in. In summer, we did a pilot where we processed stack requests every two hours. This enabled the staff to work more efficiently on other Library tasks, like digitising publications.

We asked our users how they experienced the longer waiting time. Most didn’t mind. Some found the 2-hour wait unacceptable. To meet both patron and staff needs, the Library has decided to compromise.

Starting on 1 October, we process requests from the stacks every hour on the hour. So, when you request a book between 9 and 10 am, it will be available a little after 10 am. When you urgently need a publication, please go to the lending desk. The Library staff member can make a priority request.
