ISRIC, the international centre for world soil information, is a pioneer in Data Management. ISRIC has compiled and harmonised data on soils for over 50 years. ISRIC is a real WUR Data Champion.
ISRIC makes data available in a FAIR manner and supports open data where possible.
FAIR means: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Re-usable.
During research, both researchers and guest-researchers at ISRIC work with big data. When they're finished, their data is archived in the ISRIC-repository and database. The database and repository are combined in a central location: the ISRIC Soil Data Hub. Here researchers can search for and download soil data from all over the world.
Luís de Sousa, a computer sicentist at ISRIC, tells more about the Hub in the blogpost on the OpenScience blog.
