My name is Jeerawan Ketsing. I am an associate professor of science education in the Department of Education, Faculty of Education (KU), Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand.

My main duty in KU is to prepare qualified science teachers. I am responsible for teaching several courses e.g., EE (Environmental Education), STS (Science Technology & Society), and Action Research. My research interest includes biology education, inquiry teaching, EE, and action research.

My position here is ‘guest researcher’ working with Prof. Arjen Wals. The major goal of being here is to learn from the ELS expertise in environmental education, and to bring the experiences back for developing EE in my country. Currently, my colleagues and I have been working on a research project, “Development of Active Learning Model on Environmental Education for Enhancing Pre-service Science Teachers’ Environmental Literacy and Teaching Skills”. We are still at the beginning of this project, obtained some basic data from high school students and graduate students. We are on a process of developing learning modules (or intervention) in which I am not quite sure what it would be like.

I hope my visit would be a good start for further collaboration between KU and WUR in near future. I hope everyone will give me opportunities to learn from your expertise and I am happy to share mine.
