Keynote and participation in keynote panel at the conference of the European Ecology Federation Conference results in the Lisbon Declaration
Last July ELS’s Arjen Wals gave a keynote for over 400 ecologists from all over the world on the role of education in ecological restoration and moving towards a more sustainable world.
He also was part of a panel with the other keynote speakers which discussed the responsibility of ecologists in times of runaway climate change and massive exctinction of species. The keynotes and the discussion culminated in what now is called the Lisbon Declaration which is to guide the professional activities of ecologists and their relationship with society.
