Kim Suijker, who did her MSc thesis and internship at the Cell Biology & Immunology group of Wageningen University, will be the first to receive a fellowship from the Lucie Timmermans Fund. She will use her fellowship to write a NWO PhD project proposal about the evolution of placental tolerance in viviparous animals, under supervision of Geert Wiegertjes (CBI) and Bart Pollux (EZO). She will start her fellowship in August.
The Lucie Timmermans Fund
The Lucie Timmermans Fund aims to support talented, recently graduated female researchers in the field of experimental zoology, entomology, animal physiology and animal cell biology of Wageningen University who are aiming for a PhD.
The fund provides support for activities which improve the chance of a research proposal being funded by another funding organisation. The fund awards the chosen projects with a maximum amount of € 5.000,-
