Lunchtime Exotic Travellers’ Tales

Wageningen UR Library warmly invites you to come to a lunch meeting and hear exciting travellers’ tales on Thursday 30 June from 12 noon to 1:30 pm in the Forum building in Wageningen During the lunch, several people will tell stories about their adventures in faraway lands, including Burkina Faso, Benin, India and Antarctica. The speakers will include Han Lindeboom, professor of Marine Ecology at Imares, Texel; Koos Kingma, instructor at VHL; Loes Witteveen, filmmaker and instructor at VHL; Jacquelijn Ringersma, head of the Digital Production Centre at Wageningen UR Library; and Lennard Roubos, Climate Change Consultant. Following the lunch meeting there will be a guided tour of the exhibition Reizen in den Vreemde (‘Exotic Travels’).

The lunch meeting will be held in VIP Room 031 on the ground floor of the Forum building (building 102) on Wageningen Campus, Droevendaalsesteeg 2, Wageningen.

Participation is free. Coffee, tea, and sandwiches will be provided.

Before and after the meeting, you are welcome to visit the exhibition Reizen in den Vreemde in the Special Collections reading room. The exhibition contains rare books dating from 1650 to 1930 and covers three themes: distant travels, cultural and educational travels, and walking in the Netherlands. The exhibition will continue until 16 September inclusive and is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
