The recent edition of the magazine LABinsights dedicated an article on the new Orbitrap mass spectrometer that can be linked to a pyrolysis gas chromatograph or a gas chromatograph. The facility which is placed at Wageningen University & Research’s (WUR) Food Chemistry group, and via Shared Research Facilities researchers within and outside WUR can make use of this apparatus.

The article ‘In chromatography mass spectrometry, we want to be up to date’ the ease of switching from different applications from fatty acid to biomass-pyrolysis analysis on wood-like components, e.g., lignin, is emphasized. As well as the accuracy of the of the mass determination.
