What do we offer?

We have upcoming opportunities for 4 to 6 month internships, starting between February to April 2021 depending on your study commitments. If you would like to benefit from an extensive learning experience, while working on meaningful projects in a different country, let us know! We have opportunities around the world including:

South Africa

Key Projects: 1) Compare and test applications related to best farm practices; 2) Analyse nitrogen application rate to understand how we support higher specific gravity (SG) values; 3) Research plant population and the impact on yield, sizing, and profitability of each variety.

Canada

Review whole seed and narrow row spacing application around the world.

India

Determine management practices to manage Fusarium dry rot in India and other regions.

Brazil

Analyse the gap between actual and attainable yield across different growing regions to identify and present solutions.

Great Britain

Key Projects: 1) Seed agronomy to advance our seed pipeline; 2) Sustainability data analysis to capture complex sustainability data and identify solutions; 3) ‘Farm of the Future’ demo farm to test new technologies and solutions in potato production.

Netherlands

Key Projects: 1) Storage Optimization; 2) Wireworms/animal damage and how to control in an environment with less pesticides, more drought, and more cover crops.

France

Key Projects: 1) Benchmark McCain’s competitive environment across potato and other crops; 2) Build a roadmap to increase our supply of organic potatoes.

What you need

We’re looking for students in any Agriculture related discipline who demonstrate a passion for Agriculture and have experience in new Agricultural technologies. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent team building capabilities, strong relationship building skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. Managing projects to completion is key, but most of all we are looking for highly engaged and motivated people who want to develop and really make a difference.
