NWO funded research on effects of wind turbine electromagnetic on elasmobranchs
A consortium led by WUR has received funding from NWO to find out whether power cables of the wind turbine parks in the North Sea hinder elasmobranchs (sharks and rays). Other partners include grid operator TenneT, Naturalis, the North Sea Foundation and Witteveen + Bos. Annemiek Hermans will start a PhD within this project to investigate the effects of electromagnetic waves.
