Caro-Lynn: "From the 1st of November, I am working as a lecturer at the chair group Health & Society. Therefore I would like to introduce myself to you.

Since I was little, I was passionate about health and the environment. At the age of six, I wanted to become a vegetarian and dreamed about working for Greenpeace. So when it was time to choose a subject to study, the decision for Health & Society was easily made.

In 2012, I started the bachelor and I am now proud to hold a master’s degree in Health & Society. During these years, I focused on nutrition behaviour and did research on, for example, Orthorexia Nervosa and the low-carb diet. I was also active at the study association Mercurius – where I was on the board and in several committees – and had several different jobs at the university. During my studies my enthusiasm for the academic world grew and I am now determined to make my contribution to a healthier world through education and research.

After my master, I started working as a lecturer Health Sciences in Amsterdam. During this time I learned a lot about education and retrieved my University Teacher Qualification. However, I missed the people, the atmosphere, and especially the unique perspective HSO has on health. I feel very lucky to be back here and do the things I enjoy. In my current position, I will teach several courses, supervise students in their theses and internships, and perform research as well.

On a personal note, I live in Amersfoort together with my boyfriend. In my spare time I love to workout (fitness and boulder), travel and going on adventures – especially in Scandinavia or Iceland – and read thrillers.

I am looking forward to work with you, or meet you, soon!"
