World Resources Institute Global Forest Watch program introduces our radar-based RADD deforestation alerts to their platform. The RADD alerts are built from the world’s first global, freely available radar data from the European Space Agency’s Sentinel-1 satellites. These radar-based alerts will serve Global Forest Watch as another tool to quickly uncover recent deforestation and take action.

The RADD alerts were developed by the Laboratory of Geo-information Science and Remote Sensing in close collaboration with Global Forest Watch, Satelligence, Deltares and other partners. The RADD alerts are now available for Africa and insular Southeast Asia.
