As of 6 September LEI Wageningen UR is known as Wageningen Economic Research. This name change is part of the new brand structure of Wageningen University & Research. This new structure has opted for one logo and one brand: Wageningen University & Research.
Wageningen University & Research is a brand name that remains close to the current name while clearly stating who we are: a combination of a university and market-oriented research institutes that are unique both in the Netherlands and internationally. This is where our strength lies: the interplay between education and fundamental, applied practical research. A new descriptive name also means a new web address: wur.eu/economic-research.
Wageningen Economic Research
All institutes have been given a descriptive name. We have selected a short, powerful and descriptive name. The name Wageningen Economic Research stands for applied social and economic research. Our name represents independent and reliable research. Our research is focused on the sustainable production, distribution and consumption of healthy and safe food around the world for governments, companies and social organisations.
As of 6 September, all institutes and the university will have the same logo.
Since the merging of DLO and Wageningen University in 1998, collaboration grew which enhanced the value of the consolidation of education, fundamental research and practical research for society and our clients and contacts.
In legal terms, the structure of the organisation will remain the same. Wageningen University retains its current legal name and the DLO Foundation will be legally designated as “Wageningen Research Foundation”. Wageningen University & Research has established a help desk which you can contact with your questions about how the brand policy affects you.
