Digital newspapers
LexisNexis Academic is a database which includes the contents of a large number of national and regional daily and weekly newspapers. In this database you do not find exact copies of the newspapers as you may be used to from you own digital newspaper, but a pure presentation of the text of separate artices. This database does not intend to replace reading the newspaper, but is very useful in trying to trace what was written about certain subjects in various newspapers. For some papers, the archive dates back several years.

Not all newspapers are as fast in supplying their articles. The larger daily newspapers are doing fine, a newspaper like the "Agrarisch Dagblad" is usually a few days behind. Often missing also are articles from the Saturday magazines as the papers do not have the copyrights.

More newspapers in the library
As newspapers are not really suited to be read digitally, and as the Forum building is likely to lead to a stronger concentration of library visitors, it was decided to improve services regarding national and international newspapers. Starting from June the following newspapers will be available in Forum Library and the Leeuwenborch Library: Financieele Dagblad, Agrarisch Dagblad, De Gelderlander, NRC Handelsblad, NRC Next, Trouw, De Volkskrant, El Pais, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Le Monde, The Times. The package will be adapted based on the wishes of the users.
