PhD candidate Kevin Schneider presented at the 2nd European Conference on Xylella fastidiosa

On October 30th 2019, our PhD candidate Kevin Schneider presented at the 2nd European Conference on Xylella fastidiosa. Within the session on risk and impact assessment, Kevin provided first estimations of potential direct economic impact of the disease. Insights were derived from climatic suitability modelling using an ensemble prediction from various machine learning algorithms, spatial spread simulations following a radial range expansion process as well as economic modelling to simulate foregone profits and losses in investment due to the premature death of trees.
