Over 1500 photos from Wageningen Marine Research (IMARES) were recently added to Wageningen University & Research Image Collections.

These colourful photos all relate to marine and freshwater research. The collection mainly focuses on the Netherlands, specially the North Sea, Wadden Sea, Zeeland and Dutch Caribbean.

The collection brings together photos taken during scientific surveys and holidays, as well as images collected during joint expeditions with Stichting Duik de Noordzee Schoon and WWF. The collection contains images on the following subjects:

The majority of the photos have been taken by marine ecologist Oscar Bos from Wageningen Marine Research (formerly IMARES). In the near future, by other photographers will be added.

The photos can be downloaded for free and can be used and distributed for non-commercial use. The Creative Commons licences are applicable.
