In August, Kevin Matson from the Resource Ecology Group will return to New York state to teach for the Bard Prison Initiative (bpi.bard.edu). Kevin will teach an introductory science course that is a graduation requirement for all BPI students, as well as for all students on Bard College’s main campus. The course, which emphasizes scientific literacy and the nature of science, is built around the following question: How can we reduce the global burden of infectious disease? Based on his previous experiences, Kevin is looking forward to spending part of his summer with a group of enthusiastic and engaged students.
