The SOMOS-team presented the Framework for a safety assessment during an exciting boat trip on Friday, May 18, 2018. The boat trip offered an excellent networking opportunity while sailing with the Minerva Tall Ship to the seaweed farm (Proefboerderij Zeewier of Stichting Noordzeeboerderij) in the North Sea. More than 40 persons from the renewable energy industry, seaweed industry, ministries and science participated.
At sea, reseachers started with presenting our project and the framework. Eef Brouwers from Stichting Noordzeeboerderij gave a presentation about their seaweed farm. At the seaweed farm, we showed with Augmented Reality a hazard when a maintenance vessel collides with a wind turbine and because of that, leaking oil spreads over the seaweed in the farm.

This virtual case gave the SOMOS-team the opportunity to showcase how the framework could assess economic, maritime, ecological, social, and food and feed related aspects. Unfortunately, because of the rough weather, we had to delay the presentations to a next meeting.
