Second and third duck farm in Biddinghuizen infected with Avian Influenza

In Biddinghuizen (municipality of Dronten, the Netherlands) a second and third commericial duck farm were found to be infected Avian Influenza (H5) on Thursday, December 1, 2016.

In order to prevent further spread of the virus, the ducks on these farms will be culled today. The cull is carried out by the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority. The duck farm is located within the 3-kilometer-zone of the duck farm in Biddinghuizen in which Avian Influenza was found last Saturday, November 26, 2016.
