Louise Fresco, President of the Executive Board of Wageningen UR, wrote the introduction to 'Inspiring Women at WUR'. This book specifically focuses on 22 women at WUR, as women are historically, under-represented in leadership positions.
Wageningen UR wants to increase diversity in its workforce. To achieve this, the university has implemented an action plan for gender balance between 2014 and 2016. Women have been making their way in science and leadership positions for decades but science still strongly stereotypes about gender.
Wageningen UR has created these 22 portraits of women at different stages in their career to serve as role models and to inspire the younger generation of women in academia.
