The Board has delegated the Success of the Month to Wiebke Klemm. She recently won the 'outstanding PhD student award 2015" of the European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools (ECLAS). She received the award for both the research results and the way she communicates it.
At the award ceremony in Porto, during the annual ECLAS conference, the jury pointed out the beautiful results of transdisciplinary research. As a landscape architect, she works closely with meteorologists, environmental psychologists and urban planners, for example, e.g. in the research for Climate Proof Cities. In communicating the results she uses various media such as movies, national and regional television and newspapers. Her work gets a lot of attention in the media.
In addition, she regularly gives guest lectures for professional public and students about the themes that she is working on, for example, about 'climate responsive design" and urban planning. She contributed to the award-winning project for the redevelopment of Athens (Re-Think Athens), whose implementation is now underway. So she has, states the nomination report, "contributed substantially to the improvement of the urban environment of Athens."
