As part of the International Open Access Week, the universities of Amsterdam are organizing the symposium “Open Access, the new beginning?” on Monday, 20th October 2014.

The starting point is that anyone should be able to read the results of publicly funded research. New publication forms like the “Golden Road” or the “Green Road” to Open Access and their pros en cons are discussed.

One of the speakers is Wouter Gerritsma, Information Specialist at Wageningen UR Library. He will talk about costs and benefits of different models the Netherlands can apply in this matter.

The symposium is organized jointly by the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, the University of Amsterdam and the VU University Amsterdam.

Participation is free and open to anyone interested.
