Wageningen University has appointed Tinka Murk as Professor of Marine Animal Ecology. This appointment will take effect on 15 July 2015. She is currently Professor of Ecotoxicology (personal chair). The new chair will be part of the Animal Sciences Group of Wageningen University.
Tinka Murk (1959) studied biology at Leiden University. In 1989 she was appointed lecturer in Environmental Toxicology at Wageningen University, where she earned her PhD in 1997. After her appointment as Associate Professor in 2002, she was awarded a personal professorship in Environmental Toxicology based on the high quality of her research and teaching. Since 2013, Professor Murk has been associated with the sub-department of Environmental Technology as professor of Ecotoxicology, and since 2006 has worked part time at the IMARES institute. She has supervised, or is currently supervising, 28 PhD students.
