The discussions were structured along four plenary sessions with keynote speakers from Wageningen University, the European Environmental Agency, University of Sydney, Orebrö University, University of Sheffield, Harvard University, Yale University, University of Maryland and University of Westminster.

Participants also presented their own transparency research in 15 panels covering the three different conference themes:

  • Transparency, accountability and empowerment in global environmental governance
  • Transparency and traceability in commodity chains
  • Citizen-generated and citizen-centered transparency
