Vacancies Assistant Professor/Associate Professor Forest and Nature Conservation Policy

We are looking for two enthusiastic and ambitious academics to strengthen our group.

The successful candidate:
-Holds a PhD in policy sciences, science and technology studies, human/cultural geography, anthropology, sociology, development studies, social forestry or another relevant social science discipline.
-Has an excellent international track record in preferably two of the three research themes of FNP (global-local nexus, public engagement/participation, role of expertise/knowledge), evidenced by a substantive list of high quality peer-reviewed publications.
-Is an ambitious and enthusiastic scientist and a team player, devoted to research and teaching in the social sciences.
-Has a proven track record in acquiring research funding and in managing complex research projects (for associate professor level) or proven potential to acquire research funding and managing research projects (for assistant professor level).
-Has a strong international academic reputation and network, as evidenced by reviewing and editing experience, international conference presentations, collaborative research activities and joint publications.
-Has strong networks with relevant professional and societal organizations in Europe and the tropics.
-Has a long term vision on the field with regard to research and teaching, and is able to innovate accordingly.
-Has strong didactic skills and the ability to be(come) an inspiring teacher.
-Has excellent communicative and writing skills and is able to communicate with both the academic and professional fields as well as with lay audiences
-Is willing to contribute to general tasks and activities of the chair group, the university and the academic community at large.
-Has the ambition to obtain a personal professorship in the future (after 6 years for associate professor level, after 12 years for assistant professor level).

We offer

Exceptional qualified candidates may be considered for a tenured position at the level of associate professor.
We offer you as talented scientist a challenging career trajectory called Tenure Track. From the position of associate professor you can grow into the position of a Professor holding a Personal Chair. Of course training and coaching are provided and interdisciplinary (international) cooperation is stimulated. You will also be given the chance to build up your own research line. As we will only be selecting outstanding candidates to take part in Tenure Track, this will be a good stepping stone to a further career within Wageningen UR or elsewhere.
We offer you a full time contract for 3 years, which can lead to a permanent employment contract. Gross salary per month from € 3.259,- to € 4.462,- (assistant professor position) and from € 4.517,- to € 5.498,- (associate professor position) based on full time employment and dependent on expertise and experience.
