The AEP group was very successful this year in winning two Wageningen Social Sciences publication awards.
Dr. ir. Koos Gardebroek won the 2014 award for the best Wageningen School of Social Sciences (WASS) paper with an article co-authored by Manuel Hernandez from IFPRI, Washington DC. The award-winning article Do energy prices stimulate food price volatility? Examining volatility transmission between the US oil, ethanol and corn markets was published in the journal Energy Economics 40: 119-129.
Sabrina Samson, MSc. was a joint winner of the 2014 award for the most promising paper (for authors younger than 35) with her article Analysing Dutch dairy farmer behaviour towards the provision of public goods: The added value of economic simulation experiments, which was published in Land Use Policy 34: 321-331 and co-authored by Koos Gardebroek and Roel Jongeneel.
