In 2014, Wageningen UR Library users selected online books on Agriculture, Aquaculture & Food Science from the Wiley Online Library.
Throughout the year 2014, users of Wageningen UR Library could access more than 500 books from the Agriculture, Aquaculture & Fisheries and the Food Science & Technology collection of the Wiley Online Library. During this period we noticed that some books were downloaded often. The book that was most downloaded (over 400 times) was Mathew Attokoran's Natural food flavors and colorants.
In December 2014, we decided to purchase a selection of the offered titles based on the following criteria:
- the number of downloads
- does the Library already have a print version
- the publication year
- relevancy for the research field of Wageningen UR
In total, we purchased 14 books on Agriculture, 19 on Aquaculture & Fisheries and 85 on Food Science & Technology. By downloading books, users helped us to select books for the Library’s collection.
